Children learn best when they first know they are loved, safe, and seen. Relationship building always comes first. Once I have a rapport with my students, I focus on their individual academic needs. This includes incorporating sensory needs, personal interests, brain breaks, and other developmentally appropriate practices. When I am teaching students I combine equal parts joy and rigor to help build their self confidence and content knowledge to accomplish what they want in life.
